Created by Ms. Atalia Katz in 2018, the Katz International Photography Award (KIPA) is an independent and privately funded non-profit initiative aimed at supporting creative photography and rising photographers.
Ms. Katz is an active and prolific photographer whose work focuses on social and humanistic causes. She is motivated by her commitment to the medium of photography and the belief that images are the best way to convey strong messages. These motives are what led to Ms. Katz to create the KIPA award.
The award is intended for artists in the field of creative photography who demonstrate professional accomplishments and seek stimulate creative methods of thinking and imaging. A jury of five internationally recognized photography experts will review submissions and select a winner.
The winner will be awarded a prize of $10,000 either for a completed project, or towards the completion of an ongoing creative endeavor. In addition, the winner will benefit from curatorial advice and assistance from, the decorated curator, Dr. Nissan N. Perez for a period of 12 months. The runner-up will receive advice for six months, and third place for three months.
