UNHRC Postpones Blacklist - A Diplomatic Success for Israel

The WJC commended UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet for her decision to postpone the publication of the blacklist. It’s good to see leaders take principled stances on human rights. 

For years, members of the UN Human Rights Council have relentlessly attacked Israel.  Until recently, the body requested the release of a blacklist of international businesses operating in the West Bank. Today, an important step was taken to reverse this bias. The High Commissioner on Human Rights announced the postponement of a blacklist of Israeli and foreign companies operating in the West Bank. The concern was that such a list could lead to the targeting of Jewish communities and fuel antisemitism around the world.
