Hamas Led Protests Continue in Gaza

Protests continued Tuesday along the Israeli-Gaza border, albeit at a much smaller scale than witnessed on previous days. An estimated 40,000 Palestinians took part in Monday’s violence at twelve focal points.

Palestinians on Monday planted IEDs along the border fence and there were several instances of gunfire and attempts to breach the border fence. The IDF reported that three soldiers were wounded from smoke inhalation from fires caused by burning fields, tires, and kite based Molotov cocktails.

Of the 60 Palestinians killed in on Monday, Israeli security services have identified at least 24 – nearly half of the total – as either having a history of terrorist activity or current terror group affiliation.
