The Boycott, Divest and Sanctions campaign against Israel has been categorized as anti-Semitic by the Berlin State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, an institution which monitors anti-democratic activities across the political spectrum in Berlin. The office's annual report for 2017, released last week, “refers to a grey area” between “legitimate criticism of Israeli politics to anti-Zionist anti-Semitism.” Read more: bit.ly/2LVNoFZ

The Web Observatory has found that, in 2017, 25% of all comments on articles linked to the Jewish world were anti-Semitic. The report also showed that 35% of tweets associated with Judaism were found to be anti-Semitic, with over 65% denying the Holocaust or referring to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The German government has revealed that there were 401 antisemitic incidents reported in the first half of 2018. This constitutes a 10.7% increase compared to that same period last year. The Anti-Defamation League has reported that anti-Semitic incidents have risen by 60% in 2017, in the United States. This is the largest increase the organization has ever seen in its 40 year history. Two-thirds of Hungarian Jews believe anti-Semitism is a serious problem in their country, according to a new survey by prominent sociologists András Kovács and Ildikó Barna.
